Director, Pastor John Matui Shadrack
John Matui Shadrack was born in 24th August, 1974 at Kaptama Division, Mt. Elgon Sub-County, Bungoma County, Kenya East Africa to heathen parents. I am a second born in a polygamous family. I was raised up in abject poverty and thus suffered abuse, neglect and drug abuse.
I gave my life to Jesus in 1993 after dropping from high school and resorting out of frustration and bitterness to alcoholism. I was baptized in the same year and discipled by my spiritual father Rev. Julius Wandiema. A year later, I was made the Sunday school teacher, then youth director, evangelist and then ordained as a pastor in 1997 and as overseer of 10 churches in 2012.
In April 1996, the Lord blessed me with a loving and caring wife Joselyne Chemaiyek with whom He has blessed us with 1 son, Samuel kipruto-18yrs old and two daughters; Sarah Cheptoek- 15yrs and Priscilah Chelangat- 13yrs. In 2009, we adopted another son Joseph who is aged 14yrs.
God has blessed me with passion, love, skills, knowledge, favor and compassion for the lost, youth, families, widows, orphans and church leaders. I have won many souls to the Lord through; person to person witnessing, house to house outreach, crusades, revival meetings and planted more than 12 churches in the larger western Kenya. I have mentored and guided hundreds of both, youth and leaders to realize their purpose in life, calling, talents and gifts. Many couples and traumatized victims of abuse, violence, wars, disasters and neglect have received my psycho-support and counseling. To many I am a counselor, spiritual father, mentor, role model and advisor. That’s why they call me “Mtumishi” which means servant.
I began my bumpy road of schooling in 1981 when I joined Chepkerer primary school till 1987. In 1988-1989, I went to Kaptalelio primary school where I left after sitting Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. I joined Moi Secondary school in 1990 till 1991 for secondary education when I dropped for lack of fees. In 1998, I got a certificate in sustainable Agriculture from Baraka Agricultural College. In 1999, I completed course work on Basic credit management and certificate of Micro-enterprise, SACCO formation and marketing by PERT Consultants. In 2001, I received a Certificate of Participatory Rural appraisal by Action Aid Kenya. In 2002, I trained on development and advocacy with the Forest Action Network. In 2003, I attained a certificate of Evangelism and Discipleship from the Life Ministry Kenya. In 2004, I then received a Certificate in minister’s course from the Encouragement Bible college. In 2005, I was trained as a focused group discussion facilitator and in 2006, I was trained on HIV and AIDS by the world vision. In 2008, I was trained by the Ministry of Health as Married adolescents counselor. In 2009, I wrote Kenya Certificate of Secondary education as a private candidate to fill the gap of my basic education. In 2009, I was trained as a trauma healing counselor. In 2012, received another Diploma in Bible and Theology from the Africa Theological Seminary, in 2014, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from the Africa Theological Seminary and currently enrolled at the Africa Nazarene University for Masters in Religion.
I have the grace and honor of speaking in crusades, seminars, workshops, churches, community gatherings, weddings, burials and schools. Many during these talks have been reconciled to their creator, restored broken relationships, realized their purposes in life, known their gifts, talents and restored broken relationships with others.
For the past 18 years in my walk with the Lord, I have not only sort to be orthodox, but also to be the salt and the light of my world and generation!
